Graveyard Keeper 2

Old world, new story

Grand Inquisitor

Graveyard Keeper 2 old-world landscape still
A wider old-world still from the official Steam set.

You are the Grand Inquisitor now. Store copy uses that title instead of sending you back as the original keeper. The 2 September diary 'Old World: New Story' says the first game showed only a small part of this world, then blocked roads and distant locations hinted at more. The sequel opens The Town's southern outskirts, another village, another tavern, and another forest, and it promises less grinding than the original. Returning faces sit beside new ones. The campaign has a named ending.

Announcement trailer

tinyBuild uploaded the announcement trailer on 9 April 2026 when the sequel was revealed. It is a different official video from the out-now launch trailer on the hub. This page binds the announcement upload so the inquisitor identity has its own motion picture. Click the facade to load youtube-nocookie; nothing from YouTube runs until that click.

Watch it for tone. Steam's short description still sells unhinged humour, a twisted story, and a graveyard business that is deeper than six feet. The April announcement post already named machinery, an undead army, and rebuilding The Town. The later diaries fill in labour, streets, visuals, and combat without changing that pitch.

The announcement date is 9 April 2026, the same day Steam news posted the wake-up letter. Use that pairing if you want the reveal in prose and in motion. The launch trailer on the hub is the 22 September out-now upload and should not be embedded here, because each official video is bound to one route in the media list.

A larger slice of the old world

The story diary is the published map of what 'bigger' means. It does not give coordinates. It names kinds of places: southern outskirts of The Town, another village, another tavern, another forest. Those are enough to stop treating the sequel as a cemetery reskin. They are not enough to draw a travel chart, so none is printed here.

Less grinding is printed in the same diary. Automation is how that promise becomes labour instead of a loading-screen slogan. The inquisitor still has to decide what the yard produces; working zombies carry the repetition. Keep the campaign on this route and the factory on the automation route so the story sentences stay story sentences.

The exclusive landscape still on this route is Steam screenshot 8 in the media list. It sits with the story interiors rather than with the cemetery hero on the hub. Use it to remember that the sequel is a place, then read the named outskirts as the only Steam geography hanging on this route.

Named faces, hidden rows

Public story achievements name Januarius and Jully, Jack, Gunter, Linda, the bandits, a fairy, the Necronomicon, and a completed game. Two faces is the early meeting most players already have. A Night to Remember is Linda's concert. Forbidden Knowledge is the book Steam says should stay buried. The End of the Journey is 'you completed the game.'

Five rows stay hidden: An Unlikely Pair, Two Broken Souls, A Dangerous Romance, The Ancient One, and The Other Keeper. Steam prints empty public descriptions for them. This page leaves hidden rows blank. The register still shows their icons and unlock percents, all at 0.1 percent in the Steam roster, so you can see they exist without spoiling a hidden caption Steam has not published.

A Man of Many Talents (Jack in town) and The Man Behind the Curtain (Gunter) are mid-percent story rows in the Steam roster. They are how the street gains returning faces without a published relationship chart. Log them, then keep walking. Gift guides from other wikis are not first-party and do not belong here.

Farewell to 2D compromises

The 30 July art diary puts the sequel on an operating table. The original was stylized pixel art. The sequel keeps the spirit and drops 2D compromises for major technical visual changes. That is why the stills on this wiki look like surveyed places instead of a HUD overlay. The exclusive plates on this route are the Steam landscape screenshot plus four official story interiors from the news set.

A fifth story still and the launch trailer live on the hub so the inquisitor route skips the same hero. The announcement trailer above is the April reveal, which is the right motion picture for an inquisitor identity page. If you want the out-now upload, use the hub facade.

Pixel-art nostalgia is allowed; pixel-art constraints are not the 1.0 renderer. When a still looks painterly, that is the technical change the July diary described. When a still looks like a work yard, that is the cemetery and town remaining the subject. This wiki prefers those subjects over abstract icons.

Election, ending, and the other keeper

The People Have Spoken awards when the elections are over and the future has been decided. Steam files that row under town, but it is a campaign checkpoint. The End of the Journey awards when you complete the game. The Other Keeper is a hidden row whose public description is empty; its relations in the Steam roster point at The Ancient One and the ending, which is as far as first-party text will go.

Play the street and the army until those marks move. Do not expect a published quest graph. The inquisitor title is the frame: you run a graveyard, you reopen The Town, you lead an undead army, and you finish a twisted story with unhinged humour still in the store blurb. That is the sequel Steam actually shipped on 22 September 2026.

A New Beginning is the opening story row at 94.3 percent in the Steam roster; The End of the Journey is the closing public row at 0.1 percent. The register relates those two IDs. Play the campaign between them. Do not expect this page to list every beat in between without Steam names.

Unhinged humour, twisted story

Steam still sells unhinged humour in the short description. The diaries keep the joke voice: intellectually challenged troops, books that should stay buried, a town that probably exists. That voice is part of the inquisitor identity. It is not a license to invent quest text. When Steam is joking, the diary quotes the joke. When Steam is silent, the guide stays quiet.

The twisted story is the campaign you finish for The End of the Journey. Election, hidden keeper, ancient one, and broken souls are named marks with almost no public plot. Read them as signposts. The humour is how the store wants you to arrive; the ending is how Steam admits the journey stopped.

If you want dates rather than tone, the updates trail has the April announcement, the September story diary, and the out-now post in order. This page is the inquisitor identity those posts assume. Keep the calendar over there and the faces over here.

Frequently asked questions

Do you play as the original Graveyard Keeper?

Store copy addresses the player as the Grand Inquisitor. The story diary says the sequel opens more of the old world rather than repeating the first cemetery as a reskin. Returning faces exist beside new ones; the original keeper is not the 1.0 player title.

Which ending mark does Steam publish?

The End of the Journey is the public achievement whose description is 'You completed the game.' The Other Keeper remains hidden with no public description. The People Have Spoken marks the election as a civic checkpoint on the town filter.
